Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 September 2026

These terms govern your use of https://www.compocheck.com.au (the "Site") operated by CompoCheck Pty Ltd trading as CompoCheck. By using the Site or submitting our eligibility check, you accept these terms.

1. Nature of the Site

CompoCheck is an information and advertising website, not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice. We do not represent you. Law firms that appear on the Site are advertisers. Our role is limited to: (a) publishing general information about Australian compensation claims; and (b) if you submit an enquiry, sending it to the law firm shown on the form for your state and claim type so that firm can contact you.

2. No legal advice

Information on the Site (including state guides, payout averages, FAQs and editorial articles) is general in nature and is not legal advice. Compensation schemes change. Your specific entitlement depends on your individual circumstances. Always obtain advice from an admitted Australian lawyer before relying on any information on this Site.

3. No legal practitioner relationship

Submitting our eligibility check does not create a solicitor-client relationship between you and CompoCheck. A solicitor-client relationship is only formed if and when you sign a costs agreement with a law firm.

4. Where your enquiry goes

If a law firm advertises on CompoCheck for your state and claim type, your enquiry is sent to that firm, named on the form, so it can contact you. Depending on your state and claim type, the firm may pay CompoCheck a fee for advertising on the Site or for receiving your enquiry. This payment does not change what you pay the firm. Any costs arrangement is between you and the firm - ask the firm for its costs agreement. You are not obligated to engage the firm; you may decline and seek any other lawyer of your choice. If no firm is advertising for your state and claim type, the form says so and your enquiry is not sent to any firm.

5. Communications and consent

The form asks for your consent before anything is sent, and the consent wording names the firm that will receive your enquiry. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to SMS or through our contact page.

6. Accuracy and your obligations

You must provide accurate and complete information when using our forms. You must not submit information about another person without their authority.

7. Intellectual property

All content on the Site, including text, design, logos, software and data, is owned by CompoCheck Pty Ltd or licensed to us. You may view and link to the Site for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, scrape or redistribute Site content without prior written consent.

8. Disclaimer

The Site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, CompoCheck disclaims all express and implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes any non-excludable rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CompoCheck is not liable for any indirect, consequential or special loss arising from your use of the Site, the handling of your enquiry, or the conduct of any advertising law firm. Liability for direct losses (where permitted to be limited) is capped at the fees you have paid us in the prior 12 months, which is generally zero given our service is free to users.

10. Legal advertising compliance

Law firm advertising on this site is subject to legal profession and personal injury advertising laws in each state and territory. We endeavour to comply with all applicable rules. Notify us through our contact page if you believe any content is misleading, inappropriate or inconsistent with applicable advertising rules.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

12. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
