Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of https://www.compocheck.com.au (the "Site") operated by CompoCheck Pty Ltd (ABN 00 000 000 000) trading as CompoCheck. By using the Site or submitting our eligibility check, you accept these terms.
1. Nature of our service
CompoCheck is a claim-matching service, not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice. We do not represent you. Our role is limited to: (a) collecting information from you about your potential compensation claim; (b) assessing whether your matter may meet the acceptance criteria of one of our partner law firms; and (c) referring your enquiry to a matched firm in your state.
2. No legal advice
Information on the Site (including state guides, payout averages, FAQs and editorial articles) is general in nature and is not legal advice. Compensation schemes change. Your specific entitlement depends on your individual circumstances. Always obtain advice from an admitted Australian lawyer before relying on any information on this Site.
3. No legal practitioner relationship
Submitting our eligibility check does not create a solicitor-client relationship between you and CompoCheck. A solicitor-client relationship is only formed if and when you sign a costs agreement with a matched law firm.
4. Partner law firm referrals
Your enquiry is referred to one matched partner firm in your state. We select the firm based on your state, claim type, and partner firm acceptance criteria. Partner firms pay us a referral fee for qualified enquiries. This payment does not affect the legal advice you receive or the costs structure of your matter, partner firms work on standard no-win-no-fee Australian legal costs agreements with you directly. You are not obligated to engage the matched firm; you may decline and seek any other lawyer of your choice.
5. Communications and consent
By submitting the eligibility form you consent to CompoCheck and the matched partner firm contacting you about your enquiry by phone, SMS and email, including automated calls and SMS. Standard message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to SMS or by contacting hello@compocheck.com.au.
6. Accuracy and your obligations
You must provide accurate and complete information when using our forms. You must not submit information about another person without their authority. CompoCheck relies on the information you provide to make a sensible referral; misleading or incomplete information may result in an inappropriate match.
7. Intellectual property
All content on the Site, including text, design, logos, software and data, is owned by CompoCheck Pty Ltd or licensed to us. You may view and link to the Site for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, scrape or redistribute Site content without prior written consent.
8. Disclaimer
The Site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, CompoCheck disclaims all express and implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes any non-excludable rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CompoCheck is not liable for any indirect, consequential or special loss arising from your use of the Site, the matching of your enquiry, or the conduct of any partner law firm. Liability for direct losses (where permitted to be limited) is capped at the fees you have paid us in the prior 12 months, which is generally zero given our service is free to users.
10. Legal advertising compliance
Marketing on the Site may be considered "legal advertising" under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW and VIC), the Legal Profession Act (QLD), the Legal Practitioners Act (SA), and equivalent legislation in other states. We endeavour to comply with all applicable rules. Notify us at hello@compocheck.com.au if you believe any content is misleading, inappropriate or inconsistent with applicable advertising rules.
