This Privacy Policy explains how CompoCheck Pty Ltd (ABN 00 000 000 000) trading as CompoCheck ("we", "us", "our") collects, holds, uses and discloses your personal information. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What we collect
When you use our eligibility check or contact us, we collect:
- Identity information: name, date of birth (where provided)
- Contact information: phone, email, postcode, state
- Claim information: nature and date of injury, medical attention received, current legal representation
- Technical information: IP address, browser, device, page visit data via standard analytics
Some claim information is sensitive personal information under the Privacy Act. We collect sensitive information only with your consent and only to the extent necessary to assess your eligibility and refer you to a partner law firm.

- To refer your enquiry to one matched law firm in your state

3. Who we disclose to
We disclose your personal information to one matched partner law firm in your state, the firm we believe is best placed to handle your matter. We do not sell or on-sell your information to multiple firms or to unrelated third parties. The matched firm becomes responsible for your data under their own privacy policy and the Australian Solicitors' Conduct Rules.
We may also disclose information to:
- Service providers (CRM, email, SMS, analytics) operating under confidentiality agreements
- Regulators or courts where legally required
- Professional advisers (lawyers, auditors)
4. Direct marketing and consent
By submitting our form you consent to receive contact about your claim by phone, SMS and email, including automated calls and recorded messages where applicable. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP, of email at any time using the unsubscribe link, or by contacting us at hello@compocheck.com.au.
5. Data security
We protect your personal information using industry-standard physical, administrative and technical safeguards. Information transmitted via our forms is encrypted in transit (TLS). No internet transmission is 100% secure; you provide information at your own risk.
6. Data retention
We retain enquiry records for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy and to comply with legal record-keeping obligations (typically 7 years). Claim records held by referred firms are retained under their own retention schedules and the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW/VIC) or equivalent state legislation.

Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to:

- Correct any inaccurate or out-of-date information
- Make a complaint about how we handle your information
